Canyon Ferry: Rainbow trout are being caught primarily between Pond 4 and the Silos using black and green jigs or ice flies, tipped with worms or maggots, at shallow depths. Yellow perch and a few walleye are being caught between Hole-in-the-Wall and Duck Creek Bay using Hali jigs or Swedish Pimples, tipped with maggots, in 30 to 50 feet of water. Ice conditions continue to be reported at 12 to 17 inches from Pond 4 to Confederate Bay and 5 to 9 inches on the north end of the reservoir. - Adam Strainer, Helena.
Hauser: Rainbow fishing is slow with a few being caught around the Causeway Bridge while using jigs and maggots fished 6 feet below the ice. An occasional walleye or perch is showing up in the Causeway and around Black Sandy in 30 to 40 feet of water. The ice in the Causeway is 8 to 10 inches and around Black Sandy there is 11 inches of ice. - Troy Humphrey, Helena.
Holter: Perch fishing is good around Holter Lake boat ramp, Log Gulch and Indian Trail Marina in 35 to 50 feet of water on jigs and maggots or worms. The key is to keep moving around until you find the perch. Rainbow fishing is slow with a few being caught around Gates of the Mountains. There is 8 to 12 inches of ice around Log Gulch, Departure Point and Holter Ramp. - Troy Humphrey, Helena.
Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir: Kokanee are being caught throughout the reservoir while using jigs and maggots or corn. Most kokanee are being caught 20 feet below the ice.
