Like elk, Montana seems to continue to produce record-book bighorn sheep. Yet the No. 1 spot is still held by Missoula hunter James R. Weatherly who took his big ram in 1993 while hunting in Granite County. The ram measures 204 7/8 and ranks seventh overall. A ram shot in 2009 in the Missouri Breaks by an undercover FWP warden during a sting operation may have topped Weatherly's sheep, but was confiscated during the investigation.
